Windows 11 is being so slow on my desktop that it's insane. It's the OS itself not the internet since webpages load fine but Windows Explorer is lagging like it's AOL Dial-Up.

@AOLSupportHelp My experience has been that AOL mail is quite reliable. Although, SPAM detection sucks.

Trying to cancel an Adobe subscription. Getting PTSD from the scammy days of AOL as they try and upsell me, convince me not to quit, add more offers, and generally stink of frantic desperation. Let it go, @Adobe . Just let it go.

  • MichaelSMorgan6 Michael S. Morgan (@MichaelSMorgan6) reported

There used to be (e.g., on aol) something called "chat rooms," for specific topics. Everyone was visible, had a profile, and could make any comment anytime, but always visible to others in the room. The whole problem with social media now is private, targeted messaging.

  • The_Flocco The Flocco (@The_Flocco) reported

@TaylorLorenz a lot of people i work with do that. Not just bosses/management but randos constantly expecting immediate responses if they see that green dot. Some people just silence all notifications but leave the active light. ****’s like aol instant messenger and we’re 13

Everybody complaining that the Mastodon network's federation model is too complicated should stop using email. Email: username@domain Mastodon: username@domain We've been using federated servers for DECADES. That's why my Gmail can send messages to my Mom's AOL.

  • CyberConsulting Greene Cyber security Solutions (@CyberConsulting) reported

@cybersecdancer And BTW AOL was never the real internet. its own intra net work and lacked real connections. Compuserver did have full internet convertible email connections.
