    @aklingus Dial up modem. The sound of it connecting for what seemed like 5 minutes before you could login to AOL.

    @sailorpanda @Pixeluna UGH SAME. I made the mistake of re-upping the SiriusXM radio sub on our car once, and that is hands down the LONGEST cancellation gauntlet I’ve ever been through. Haven’t encountered such an aggressive customer retention department since the pre-lawsuit days of AOL

    @itstylersays Topshot is the AOL of NFTs. Both had early adoption with wide appeal and ruined it with horrible execution. Really shows the speed this space moves as AOL took years to do it, Topshot took months.

    @DainBramage You just had less access to bad opinions befores. People was trippin on AOL and in letters to the editor before that.

    @aklingus There was like a 6 month period in the mid 90s where AOL chat rooms were a fun place to hang out… and when you started a convo with someone you’d have to rapid fire emails back and forth because there was no private chat or instant message system

    @blumby09 That someone for me was AOL Customer Support, as I was complaining about accessing sites. She said connect to AOL then use whatever apps you want ... 🤯
