  • Mstaats13 Mike (@Mstaats13) reported from Fort Wright, Kentucky

@AllanNate @calebfurst @HoodieCarsen Damn that’s actually pretty funny, I totally forgot about that site. I remember reading it back in the AOL days lol

  • thomgore Thom Gore (@thomgore) reported from Independence, Kentucky

@ShannonD10 @angelgirl1976 Sorry. I actually have six. I have one which isn’t on my phone and I never log into. I give it when an email address and I don’t want their emails. AOL probably hates me.

  • tom_streeter Tom Streeter (@tom_streeter) reported from Burlington, Kentucky

@CincinnatiPhil If it was in the alt.* hierarchy it was a real crapshoot, but this was before “Eternal September’ (when AOL went on the Internet) so it exceeded FBook on its worst day. Tim Berniers-Lee & Marc Anderson both made their initial announcements on Usenet.

  • Carriefilm Carrie Alane (@Carriefilm) reported from Cincinnati, Ohio

I wish Elon would buy aol next and reinstall aol instant messenger. The new aol sucks. Same with yahoo

  • _breeeeen_ John Breen (@_breeeeen_) reported

@richburroughs @relistan I want to say my first "Social Network" was MySpace? I was just a little too young for Friendster, but I do remember AOL Chat Rooms if that counts

  • nagel_roman Roman Nagel🌊⚖️✊🗽 (@nagel_roman) reported

The people who are really celebrating this morning are the former Twitter shareholders. There hasn't been a tech purchase this bad since AOL and Time Warner merged. Kudos to those who got paid while the Titanic was 2/3 of the way underwater.

  • DefetyDef Def (@DefetyDef) reported

@LesterWikid @vonnegut_curt This is the 2nd worst business deal in history... Time Warner and AOL was 1st..

  • socalchi Robyn (@socalchi) reported

When rich people blow money on stupid **** (social media companies that can evaporate i.e. AOL, or getting to Mars) instead of investing in healing our planet, clean water, affordable electricity, clean air, less destruction (war, pollution), it makes ne CRAZY! INVEST IN EARTH!!!

  • pawlawscv Philip A. Wasserman (@pawlawscv) reported

@LizNigroCFLS Down 33 billion on the close. Worst buy since AOL Time Warner, unless he can take it public one day at a price above $54.20. But he’s got the platform. Who knows? Good deal for the shareholders who cashed in.

  • DrJohnFrancis Dr. Francis 🇺🇲🌻🇺🇦☮️ (@DrJohnFrancis) reported

@CBluesDC This is why I had nightmares every night since November 8th, 2016, given what I used to see with AOL members, and how easily manipulated people can be, this **** would get normalized.

  • BlutmanMark Mark Blutman (@BlutmanMark) reported

@elonmusk @verified I’d like my blue check please. 32 years writing film and TV. Major awards. Iconic shows. My name being used on this app by imposters. The bots don’t think I’m me. Fix this please or I’m taking my business to an AOL chat room.

  • nagel_roman Roman Nagel🌊⚖️✊🗽 (@nagel_roman) reported

@Justsmackit Twitter is already on the path to demise. This is the worst tech acquisition since Time Warner purchased AOL. Why do you think Twitter shareholders were so eager to do the deal?

  • GaryLegum Gary Legum (@GaryLegum) reported

@rtraister An AOL address, no less. It's like 1997 never ended.
