AOL had a $45 BILLION loss (write-down) on AOL's "goodwill" on their balance sheet in the year 2000? That's exactly what Elon Musk paid for Twitter.

  • SpaceCommissar Coq de Combat (@SpaceCommissar) reported

@hunleyeric 3 points: - never had a reason to send a fax - we had other email providers in Sweden than AOL - the paper check culture wasn't really a big thing (afaik) when I was young, not here at least

@paul_redfearn Ah I've never had an AOL email address. I got my Hotmail address in 1999. Only cos the i.t. guy at work couldn't understand why I had no idea what the interweb was.

  • AttorneyJenn Jenn (@AttorneyJenn) reported

@TheLastofUsHBO @hbomax If only the show would stream clean. HBO Max has always had the worst, most glitchy streaming service akin to AOL dialup. When Discovery takes over, I hope it’s one of the things they fix. We can watch any other channel all day with zero problems but it’s impossible on HBO Max.

  • heykerry KerryDoesVegas (@heykerry) reported from Summerlin South, Nevada

@MdotKwabena @Aella_Girl Ya think? Well it happened to me on multiple occasions. One began at a hotel pool. Another on the dance floor of a nightclub. The craziest time was with an online friend in the early days of AOL chat rooms. We agreed to meet in darkness and never saw what the other looked like.

@Rainmaker1973 I remember when my AOL password was 4 characters and I could just call support and they would reset it over the phone with virtually no verification…
