I hate telling people I still have a AOL account, but when they tell me they still use Yahoo and hotmail....I don’t feel bad at all.

  • anarchoenby77 T day 3 ⚧ (@anarchoenby77) reported

When I was 19, a random guy added me on AOL messenger and started asking for pics of me. Eventually, he convinced me to come on video, where he pointed the camera down and ****** off. Then another time, in college, a guy catcalled me by saying, "LOOK AT THAT ***"

  • stemmy93 stemmy◡̈ (@stemmy93) reported

I’m slow like internet explorer but reliable AF #notreally *insert struggling AOL sounds here* 🐢

  • POedSubwayRider Pissed Off Subway Rider (@POedSubwayRider) reported

@aolmail FIX YOUR FILTERS! Every AOL user I know is having issues!

  • ScharaBill Bill Schara (@ScharaBill) reported

AOL sent an e-mail informing of service changes. With all the spam and not wanting the upgrade, I ignored it. The jackasses upgraded and charged me upfee anyway with the justification that I didn't click the "opt out" link. How the HELL is this legal?

  • Bagpussonacid Bagpuss On Acid (@Bagpussonacid) reported

@bobdaduck @0x49fa98 @VDAREJamesK Tried it. Prefer Qwant, but both have problems. With a sniff of effort Bing could be in play, but they seem obsessed with recreating AOL.

  • mturner Michele Turner 💙💛 (@mturner) reported

@troutgirl I had the dubious distinction of shutting down Excite@home and then about 2 years later being part of the west coast AOL layoff. You learn a lot during downturns.

  • Sandman25182689 Sandman (@Sandman25182689) reported

@RealAllinCrypto DOT ecosystem is eclipsing everything Ripple was designed to do and more. Basically, the XRP shtick about banks' walled gardens/ cross border payments is now old tech. It'll be respected as an OG crypto but in the same way AOL was the foremost ip service. Its day has gone.

  • jonmoselewis jon lewis (@jonmoselewis) reported

@fightkenfight Turner Execs were never fans of WCW. The only person who did care was Ted, even when WCW was making them millions. And when AOL purchased Turner, all they saw was red History is not repeating itself because it’s an entire different situation, WBD doesn’t own AEW. They host AEW.

  • Action_Not_Talk Excuses_Or_Results_Not_Both (@Action_Not_Talk) reported

Is anyone else having trouble getting on to AOL? My modem keeps getting a busy signal.

  • LiamAngus Holland Oats (@LiamAngus) reported

I actually said "Yeah okay" with a suprising amount of enthusiasm and started following him to the other pitch. as soon as I got distance from him, I hopped on my bike and peddled as hard as I could away from him. I never returned to the AOL.
