@ifandbut01 @ThatEnglishGent @LoreReloaded @SpacedockHQ @MccabeAlasdair @EckhartsLadder No, but the FidoNet BBS's did. We also had Prodigy, and AOL. Some smaller ones as well. There has always been debate. Never has it been so bad. I remember there being a lot of hate for Voyager. Hate for DS9. The hate because, or over (neutrality sake) STD, imo is overwhelming!

@AshtonLouis10 It's common in a service industry to do an impossible to say no to offer as an entry point. They are in an aggressive expansion mode, so it makes sense. It's like AOL or Netflix back in the day...they did the same kind of thing.

@CryptoWhale It's html for $, not AOL. It doesn't care what source it's electrons come from, and has the ability to utilize stranded energy.. Helping BOLSTER green solutions. And it's POW goes to SECURING the network... POS "solutions" are just more "might is right" BS rewarding the rich

@robpegoraro I'm glad to know someone else has this problem. I use a 3 letter AOL email address that I've had longer than most twitter users have been alive. I get mail from Xbox every time Stephen Mahalick buys something. And Yoeman's Ford reminds me when Steven Morgan's car needs service.

@SuperNerdLand @devtrospective In hindsight I should have realized by now I think the problem is how young and impressionable I was in its inception. I'm older than rickrolling and AOL/AIM but I was still a stupid teen once.

Most of the time you'll be providing remote desktop support to a bloated team of executives who don't understand why an unplugged computer won't 'open their damn AOL' so they can catch up on sports scores. 3/

@MichaelStahlke No problem. I'll just have to delete my Sid Meier's Pirates bootdisk, though, because I accidentally spilled a Jolt cola on my last AOL free-trial floppy disk and they haven't sent me another one yet this week.

@jeremiahg @ericlaw Yes...we’d still be on AOL dial-up with this standard. We accept extremely slow progress on our physical infrastructure for safety, and we see where that got us for better or worse.
