My little sister just graduated from AOL and I was never a fan of the school because the other kids were always out of pocket. I have no idea how she did it all those years.

  • byRicardoG Ricardo Guillaume (@byRicardoG) reported from Boston, Massachusetts

@BigWillCarp Yea, she just took the kid’s milk and poured it down the drain. Last season she used a satanic pseudonym on aol instant messenger to weasel her way into his house. Going from Ritchie and his fetish to Ralphie and his fetish alone. Psychopath. 💀

  • romano_1197 Javi Romano [They/Them] (@romano_1197) reported from Boston, Massachusetts

“This are either amateur porn stars or bad AOL usernames” -my friend reading twitter handle suggestions

  • kaymbfoster loops thee pony🎀 (@kaymbfoster) reported from Boston, Massachusetts

it's tempting in crypto to try to go down the AOL route of being all things to all people. but specialization is a feature not a disadvantage

@dandeckr @dxndeliions It's a very old email client, makes even AOL and Hotmail look new and snazzy. I still have my original hotmail, very useful to enter into websites that demand one, as I never read any of it!

  • Kismeteclipse Kent Kent (@Kismeteclipse) reported

@TwitchSupport This idea is stupid. Twitch chat now looks like an aol chat room from 20 years ago. Good job.

  • MikePossibly Mike (@MikePossibly) reported

@thehill Those names carry too much baggage. I'll never get the sound of a dial up connection out of my head whenever I hear AOL or Yahoo.

  • CryptoJiren J (@CryptoJiren) reported

"r/todayilearned - [NSFW] TIL about the Scunthorpe problem The problem was named after an incident in 1996 in which AOL's profanity filter prevented residents of the town of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England, from creating accounts with AOL, because the town's name contains …

@darykjozef Over 10 years?? Sheeeeeeeit. I've had AOL bills bigger than my tuition for the quarter. I cut my teeth on USENET before viral meant anything outside of a lab. I paid for my first browser. Y'all get ******** off my lawn.

  • Aranjedeath Aranjedeath (@Aranjedeath) reported from Los Osos, California

@TProphet Wow, what a write down if they only get 4-5b for them. AOL alone is a huge ad platform now (huge as in combined businesses, I don't know if their ad stuff is actually used)

  • foalbarnspenn Roger Stephenson (@foalbarnspenn) reported

@AOLSupportHelp on mac via google no problem, but updated back ups, gmail went fine, buut when I tried to do confirmation for phone it would not accept the number sent to me.

  • firstadopter tae kim (@firstadopter) reported

I am still upset they shut down AOL Instant Messenger. Lost an incredible network of nearly two hundred people built over decades. That is all.
