Real talk. Novelty is hard to come by during pandemic. A few weeks ago, I was really enamored with online dating now sent back to my aol teen days. As a cranky ***** who hates first dates and strangers, this seemed like a perfect solution (poly, remember?).

Moreover, **** the ppl. giving so much credit to the johnnie-come-lately’s for whom the camel’s back just broke when that camel was dead and buried under straws already. Credit to Waters, Tlieb, AOL and others that were fighting all along, they were always right. Always!

@bibbityboosadan @ThisIsTomLittle @qikipedia Verizon acquired them, and AOL, and decided to sonically-weld them together, in one nostalgia-infused pile of garbage. Sure that they'll suck up Lycos, and Kodak, eventually, too...

@kelseyhuse30 My husband answered my personal ad on the Internet. Back when we had AOL accounts with dial-up access. I went on so many bad dates, I swore that his email was the last one I would read. We were engaged two months after we met. We’ve been married for 21 years.

"Cyber Monday" will never not amuse my inner immature teen who grew up in AOL chatrooms.

@juliey4 My view of it is the internet evolved. The needs of the consumer changed. AOL and Hotmail were slow to change and offer a better product. Also, google was free and aol was still a monthly fee to use back then.

@ThatCG1801 @RobbeeeRob They had one whole smooth *** year to try and up their streaming capabilities. They failed miserably. In two business days I’ll be looking for my refund. Or else they’ll be hearing from me AGAIN! I damn near missed the whole 3rd quarter because of that or crappy AOL servers 🥴

@theonlyrymac Then you are aware of the mass shut down run by GOL and Digital Underground in 1997 that shut down everything from CompuServe to AOL to Geocities to AskJeeves to Yahoo for 13 days?

@Evs_Dubai Well I thought he had left. He used to be my main boss and I had regular contact with him and then it stopped once he left. I never saw him at the AOL after that point. I'm not saying he won't be involved. I just don't know why people think he will be?
