@dancow In the 90s I had an AOL account so I could test our software on their proprietary browser. Couldn’t cancel online. Had to call in (but long wait on hold). Instead, I switched to cheapest (4.95) plan until credit card finally expired.

Back in the day, I was catfished on MySpace. This girl was using her cousins pics as her own. This was the AOL/AIM days, so you know XeLBoW did his investigative work and called her out when shit got fishy.

Phone service was barely working where I was in Queens, and it wasn't working at all in Manhattan. My best friend's boyfriend was at work in Midtown. He found me on AOL Instant Messenger at one point and asked me to try to make a phone call on his boss's behalf.

Judge rules today APPL can no longer force developers to use in-app purchasing While bad for my portfolio this is good for the world In the 90s AOL also tried to control websites with their walled garden. Imagine if all "web" purchases were forced through AOL with a 30% cut
