@BridgetPhetasy Social media, all of them, use your data as their product (still). And, they will never be the open playing field you are looking for. Did you think AOL was going to be an open playing field? These are no different. The internet is the open playing field, stop bowing down.

For the second time @AOL won't let me sign in to my email unless I enter a code number ... which they sent to the email they won't let me into. Just how braindead are the people at @AOL?

What Really Burns My Tortillas (@chango_malo) reported
@Mr_Incredibul @nickinnd I was recently talking with some friends about this same issue. It was basically broken down to the fact that we need an "AOL of Web3 solution". As dumb as that sounded, we all agreed. AOL onboarded the masses to the world wide web.

@imjasondiamond I know what you mean except that I have found that some famous people (mostly Broadway folks) of a certain age still have AOL addresses? Like their publicist set it up for them in 1996 and they just never bothered to change it.

Frederick Finite Farm (@FredFiniteFarm) reported
@RandyRRQuaid I've never had one. Not really sure what they're good for. It's not like when AOL came out and you had to buy their monthly dial-up service to get in their chat rooms. Those were the days long before blue check ✔ marks.
