David Berkowitz (@dberkowitz) reported from Manhattan, New York@michaelmiraflor @Aerocles @MattJMcD Why is it a problem that they’re asking what web3 is? To me, that’s a great sign that they care. This is so new in any practical sense. The web itself didn’t matter to most without the browser & AOL. Web 2 didn’t matter for most until Facebook. Most people need real applications.

James McEvoy🇺🇲🇮🇪🌈♊👨🦰 (@JPMcEvoyNYC) reported from Manhattan, New York@electroboyusa Nope. Same AOL email since dial-up. I also have the same phone number since 1986 and never had a Facebook account. Never felt the need to follow the crowd "just because".

Brittany♚ (@britshaniece) reported from Manhattan, New YorkThink about how horny you gotta be to see some porn in the Fleets. That UX is horrible. AOL dial-up porn.
-
Jason Schulweis ☕️ (@jschulweis) reported from Manhattan, New YorkMy thoughts on the Yahoo/AOL news summed up as follows: - as a former Yahoo, I still bleed Purple for the brand. It mattered so much to so many for so long, and still does to a degree (just in different ways) - The middle is a bad place to be. If you can’t compete in scale…

Matty 🇺🇸 🇺🇦🇨🇦🇫🇷🇮🇱🏴 (@Podia2Dromedary) reported from Manhattan, New YorkThe truth is I never had a MySpace account but I did have Prodigy, AOL and NetZero.
-
steketee (@steketee) reported from Manhattan, New York@aripap If AOL could figure out why they dropped the ball in AIM, I might consider reading the rest of their issues
-
Bobby Cubano (@YesITalkTooFast) reported from Staten Island Junction, New JerseyMad as hell bc I had to delete then re-login to my aol account on my phone (shut up, I know) and the notes in my notepad app I wrote from the end of June-present were not backed up So many single lines of lyrics that were never going to become anything, gone

-
cool choppers embasy🥄 (@WithChanceof) reported from Rutherford, New JerseyIt was around the time of cosm mine and transmutable related credibility at full proliferatory two years ago that I made my biggest display of the **** scene of the aol message boards as evident by the new trak polyphonic and lock chains dynamic and that it was mutability
-
chrisghent.near ᵍᵐ (@ChrisGhent) reported from Newark, New Jersey@whiskeybaarrell @delia_cai Damn is this really a negative? I send all my junk to @AOL… nearly 20 years of junk in there.

-
Bill Fitzgerald (he/him) (@funnymonkey) reported@eliomen Yes, this. The tech solutions never delivered, in many cases because UX was an afterthought. I think about people fleeing AOL and landing in the internet. What's the analogous experience here?
-
the pigeon dealer (@thepigeondealer) reportedYall saying xyz crypto is Google vs abc is AOL are cheesy as **** like that's so silly it doesnt say anything meaningful about how your currency is doing...
-
RC (@resilientcypher) reported@H3KTlC I remember AOL chat rooms, those were like the wild west in there. almost no rules. Modern social media is much more locked down than it was bsck then for sure. If "ASL" was entered, things were about to get real. lol.
-
Mikael Pawlo (@mpawlo) reported@ViktorBunin @compoundfinance Code as law is something slightly different I’d argue, like how small biases might lead to big unintended consequences due to code being law. AOL banning ”breast” as a word meant that the American Breast Cancer Society could not discuss its issues on AOL. Example from @lessig
-
ColdHamCohaagen (@ColdHamCohaagen) reportedThe internet sucks. facebook goes down and it's like the whole internet goes down. AOL dreamed of being a one stop shop internet and we all hated that **** in the 90s. But here we are again with the internet basically being only a few sites. We need to break up monopolybook.
-
slinky #2366 | freightrain.eth (@the_freightrain) reported@_FREEGAS_ Nah I fully agree. AOL wasn’t the best messenger service but it was early. So what are we buying?
-
Cori MacNaughton (@CrescendoOPeace) reported@shamrock3122 @GdCopBdCop @DocAtCDI I've been part of a few art shows that specialized in artwork using CDs, but typically the ones used were the spam CDs we got through the mail, for AOL as just one example, and CDs that no longer worked. I would NEVER trash a working music CD, but then, I'm a musician too.
-
Geena from Upstate (@No07525869) reported@alden_brimm @TheMarkRants @JohnDiesattheEn Ah yes, the AOL model of service.
-
Marshall Beach 19th St (@Beach19thSt) reported@EdwardRocket1 @IllyBocean I tried AOL in 1994. Took a floppy disk out of a magazine, I think. It took so long for the browser to load a photo I told my girlfriend that this internet thing would never take off.

chickenwhisperer (@chickenwhispe12) reportedAll I’m saying is I never had this kind of trouble with AOL…
