@zoonotic1 When I picked up the phone, it took maybe 45 seconds to realize that the person on the other end wasn't an employee of our company -- it was some random lady who had dialed a wrong number & was having trouble with her AOL dialup connection. I walked her through it from memory.

@meagankenrekt My first computer was a Trash 80 and AOL was the first online social service I participated in. Just keep learning the new formats and bite your thumb at anyone who gives your style grief. I take solace that I know how to survive if it collapses. Most of them would die if it did.

@kentindell Not American Online, that was terrible. AOL Instant Messenger. I'm pretty sure you're old enough that was the default and pretty good pre-social-media platform we all used and loved.
