wild 2 me that ppl would lie on the internet, even when I was a teen I was just sending my real *** face to my role play buds on AOL… **** was stupid & dangerous but at least I wasn’t catfishing anyone

@c_lawson Never been ”jailed” but I’ve ditched FB for the same reason when it displayed authoritarian tendencies like AOL did. “Community standards”is BS excuse back then, and it still is. Nonexistent in the Interwebs. Were only brought in to justify controlling content not their liking.

@sambgrover Also easy to forget now but the culture around conglomerates was very different then. Obv GE was the craziest example but there were all sorts of nutty mergers. AOL (purely an internet service provider) bought Time Warner!
