@JustAFamilyMan_ @tommystonkz Honestly though, I'd say that AOL & MSN Network were the proto social media, especially the chatrooms

  • BeyondBlonde3 👠Beyond Blonde 👠 (@BeyondBlonde3) reported

I remember the first time I went into an AOL chat room I thought I had died and gone to heaven. A whole ******* world solely based on written words had opened up to me, and **** yeah I danced with glee in it.

  • tommystonkz I ain't got no job (@tommystonkz) reported

@nwaMaziO @JustAFamilyMan_ Damn we are getting old. I forgot about MSN messenger. I feel like WhatsApp is the evolution of that platform. Aol Chat used to be lit in the Dial up days....lol

  • resilientcypher RC (@resilientcypher) reported

@H3KTlC I remember AOL chat rooms, those were like the wild west in there. almost no rules. Modern social media is much more locked down than it was bsck then for sure. If "ASL" was entered, things were about to get real. lol.

  • DCuplink DC Uplink (@DCuplink) reported

@The_Mi_ke Nah, it will probably never die. People still use aol.

  • EFFreelance SaltED Dragon (@EFFreelance) reported

Look, I never took down my myspace page, and I probably still have an AOL email somewhere out there, so I'm probably never going to delete my facebook page either. It will just become as irrelevant as the other things I no longer use.

  • symbiote_black BlackSymbiote (@symbiote_black) reported

@hopper_m Honestly wish social media never went past AOL a/s/l. Since then it's been a **** hole
