@rafathebuilder I posit that the "MetaVerse" is a network of non-places rooted in the hyperreal. It is not a new locale, it encompasses AOL, Instagram, and Second Life. What might be new, or at least on an upswing, is its primacy in the thought of its participants.

  • AWorldOutOfMind Saint Brian The Godless (@AWorldOutOfMind) reported

@Dragon25548 No, I cannot. Diniesh there kinda 'got me into' blogging which eventually led to me being here on Twitter. I used to blog against him, on his own AOL blog back then. I've hated that bag of crap for 16 years.

  • randyforsman Randy Forsman (@randyforsman) reported

@JasonABowman @SpoopyKiwi I never used one, but I remember those. I am however old enough to remember AOL 1.0, and how much of an improvement it was over Compuserve or Prodigy. One of my earliest social media experiences was a local dial-up BBS (circa 1993 I think?).
