AOL Issues Reports Near Westminster, Colorado

  • tuba_man Chris 🌈🌟 (@tuba_man) reported from Wheat Ridge, Colorado

@AmyDentata It's the same reason why gaudy desktop PC lights are a mess of vendor lock-in, And why we've reinvented the bad old days of infinite cable bundles and of AOL channels (which is about the nicest way I can think to describe the deliberate interop friction between social media apps)

  • iansltx Ian Littman (@iansltx) reported from Denver, Colorado

Verizon should have never bought Yahoo and AOL, but it's good to see them shed those and refocus. AT&T should have never bought Tim Warner, but it's good to see them soon both that and DTV off. T-Mobilr should have never bought Layer3 TV. Etc.

  • kittehv1876 Kat V (@kittehv1876) reported from Denver, Colorado

@ChrisJFuselier Never trust a Hotmail address, they are the new AOL. 🤣

@gahlamp @vectorpoem AOL was the first big online service to provide general Usenet access, notoriously in September 1993.

  • aceklaviergavin la signora hmu (@aceklaviergavin) reported

@exbeekeeper back when dial up was a thing AOL was a paid service that let normal people access the internet & it came bundled with an email address & until gmail came along there wasn't really a way for normies to get an email address outside of AOL

  • sailortweek TV's Grunkle Mary - CLIP SHOW HOLIDAY SPECIAL (@sailortweek) reported

@StanLewis_ Curse me kilts, I had that whole Dell set up BUT I have never used AOL in any form ever. Put ICQ on that bad boy and forever logged on to Livejournal.

  • Alwayswonderi15 Always wondering (@Alwayswonderi15) reported

It’s too late for my family. We’re too broken. My parents are too deep. Too angry. Too toxic. They have divided the siblings and fractured the family. We have nothing but emptiness. AOL suppresses them so much that the pressure gets released on us.

  • billjamesonline Bill James Online (@billjamesonline) reported

@sweenz104 AOL was terrible in the late 1990s. THey actually long ago fixed many of their problems, so they're really no worse than any other service, but they still have that reputation hanging over them.

  • _nathanielbrady Nathaniel Brady (@_nathanielbrady) reported

@CLEtroyjames That was 15 years ago hitting fifths of Vlad and staying up till 4 watching atreyu the bled and senses fail on dial up aol with 2 hour loads dude! Only for Tina to come home and bust us hahaha

  • bumleg tbd (@bumleg) reported

the good old days were two guys in college thinking “i’ve heard a penis in an ******* was good” from an AOL riotgrrrl message board. think about that.

  • SarahJohnsonPR Sarah Johnson (@SarahJohnsonPR) reported

@Come_On_Ground @jenniferlee_75 Lol. Cannot tell you how many times millennials who think they’re sparring with me on a topic, point to that and say: AOL? No one reads AOL. That’s just dumb. And I’m like: wow, you’re truly stupid.

  • ChrisBloomstran Christopher Bloomstran (@ChrisBloomstran) reported

Case had pulled off the sale of the century, using AOL’s high-priced currency @ 35x revenues to buy a durable, not dying business for 11x revenues. Down from a combined $354B market cap, $T ultimately bought Time Warner last year for $85B plus assumed debt. But back to $TSLA: 12/
