    My AOL-IM is down, wtf??

  • iansltx Ian Littman (@iansltx) reported from Denver, Colorado

Verizon should have never bought Yahoo and AOL, but it's good to see them shed those and refocus. AT&T should have never bought Tim Warner, but it's good to see them soon both that and DTV off. T-Mobilr should have never bought Layer3 TV. Etc.

  • tuba_man Chris 🌈🌟 (@tuba_man) reported from Wheat Ridge, Colorado

@AmyDentata It's the same reason why gaudy desktop PC lights are a mess of vendor lock-in, And why we've reinvented the bad old days of infinite cable bundles and of AOL channels (which is about the nicest way I can think to describe the deliberate interop friction between social media apps)

  • MarcusHUSA Marcus (@MarcusHUSA) reported

The other problem with @nikkifried is she’s allegedly a statewide elected official and all she seems to do all day is sit around and tweet about things unrelated to her job but totally related to someone playing Fantasy Governor on AOL chat boards.

  • Recon_Para Mike (@Recon_Para) reported

@missjessyjess "OMFG, mom. You're fat shaming me on The Twitters in front of all your AOL friends? All I want is a bigger belly so I get longer belly scratches. Is that so bad, mom?"

  • tsdower t. s. dower (@tsdower) reported

@mblinder @kneelconqueso Probably too young! (That's not bad!) 1993, AOL connecting to the rest of the internet dumped more than the usual new Sept semester student influx into online communities with their own norms, overloading the unofficial tech support & social onboarding processes forever.

  • moderation1185 Sean Morgan (@moderation1185) reported

@JMEightDigits @jephjacques @reactionfaye BTC itself? Not yet, which is one reason China is already cracking down on BTC mining. But there's nothing preventing BTC eventually doing what ETH does, and moving over to proof-of-stake or a similar system. But, I think BTC is the AOL-like dinosaur of the crypto space, tbh.

@SIRIUSXM Never give them your credit card. You’ll never get in touch with. It’s rigged and a scam. Unless you want to waste hours upon hours of your time. #NeverAgain. The AOL of modern times.

  • ANotoriousPIG Notorious P.I.G. 🐽 (@ANotoriousPIG) reported

@Theophite AOL's "Religion and Ethics" message board, back in 1996 or so It was a freewheeling and often absurd space, and when AOL shut it down in the early 2000s we regulars all grieved a little
