Start up idea: a messaging service that’s the exact same UI/UX that AOL Instant Messaging was. The throwback will drive folks nuts.

@MattLech AOL and Yahoo rags aren't much better than Business Insider, and I'm surprised that you resort to such misinformation. I thought MR exposed bad journalism instead of relying on them. Safety concerns of future projects are one thing, but we were talking about a 1.7 mile tunnel.

Trying to use a valid AOL email address to login to airport Wi-Fi, tells me the email address isn’t valid. Change AOL to gmail and it works but gmail address doesn’t exist.

@GraellsiaMoon @NathanHRubin Second this. I don’t have one yet but I do play VrChat with my (adult) family members and the amount of screaming children in there is terrifying. Think early AOL chat room but with NSFW avatars. It can be fun and also awful. Would keep cvs idleness far from this game.

@danvega Oh yes! And it turns out that AOL costs $39.99/month these days, and their billing support answers right away (can’t be especially busy, right…) Context: my aunt has had an active subscription just for the email address, paying dutifully since the year 2000. RIP that account!

@Ennamonadakuthu @SaketRam10 @ProjectAram I support ISKCON, AOL , Isha, Ramakrishna Mission etc as Ling as they bring Abrahmics in to our fold even if they don't call themselves Non Hindus. This is the only way to counter Abrahamic onslaught.

@ASoftstar He is listening to the scarecrow singing "If I Only Had a Brain" via some obscure and obsolete telephone streaming service from AOL.

  • theloudestno

@TheCryptoLark ETH is the AOL of crypto. Nobody wants a layer 2 patched network with extreme gas fees. Even if implemented, gas fees will take a couple of years to subside, not to mention all of those people who locked ETH for 2.0 who were expecting 15~20k a coin by unlock. Not bullish on ETH.

    Doug Austin (he/him) (@DougMAustin) reported

@randileeharper LOL I did that for almost a year then switched to NetZero. I remember having to fix friends and families computers because the AOL installer replaced Winsock.dll with a custom dll so you couldn’t use another ISP.
