The guy explained the 30 day notice period (despite being out of contract) and that services would cease on 25th August. If its covered there you're legal expenses insurer will pay for the damage to be repaired allowing you to pick the folks that fix it. Then your insurer can have the hassle of chasing BT to get their money back. Worth a phone call.
