@EE Hi Chris. All sorted now. There was clearly some big outage as I had no signal but back to normal ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

@EE I recently upgraded my contract to a 5G SIM only deal. I'm unsure whether I should be receiving an actual new SIM card in the post (5G enabled?) or my account has just been upgraded on the network side so I use the same SIM but get the 5G coverage?

@EE Service came back late last night but now off again this morning. No notification given about any maintenance. This happens regularly and we are out of contact completely. Time this was fixed once and for all

Having a slight problem with my @EE Phone contract, I had to change my number but forgot to add the new number to my @EE profile now it is only sending verification codes to my old number so I canโ€™t access my contract details. Already dialled 150 but it didnโ€™t help.

@TomTugendhat @O2 @EE Cambridge is meant to be our tech capital, but half the city has terrible coverage. And if you if you enter a building anywhere in town, its almost non-existent.

  • CouncillorLuke
    Councillor Luke Bennett (@CouncillorLuke) reported

@TomTugendhat @O2 @EE Correct. I had a better reception from my first (Cellnet) mobile in 1995 (in Devon)! Gone are the days of being able to rely on a decent signal! Despite that, ugly / tall mobile phone masts are everywhere (with zero effort to camouflage them or place them 'sensitively').

  • Sum1st
    Sum1st (@Sum1st) reported

@TomTugendhat @O2 @EE That is so true. In Oxfordshire an intellectual heavyweight, you cannot get reliable signal in the city centre an don't signal in most places you drive to. My son went to a school trip to India and another one in Wales. Guess where he was out of reach....in Wales.

@TomTugendhat @O2 @EE What did you do in the years you were in government to fix it? Plenty of time to do something, and yet. Stop virtue signalling and find some introspection.

  • PhlipGodfrey
    Philip G (@PhlipGodfrey) reported

@SClash2019 @EE @Apple They've gone dreadful recently, everytime I ring my fiance and also one of my friends who both use EE I struggle to hold a conversation with either of them as their signal constantly break up. It's not my end as I've tried two different sims with the same result!

  • Ummnope7
    Umm...nope (@Ummnope7) reported

@TomTugendhat @O2 @EE It's not the government's job to help you choose a decent mobile phone service. You're a grown man. You can make your own consumer choices, whether they be sensible or stupid.

  • 64Jimfogarty
    Jim Fogarty (@64Jimfogarty) reported

@EE must say very disappointed that you ask for extra ยฃ10 for wifi extenders after promising when taking contract out that I wouldn't need them and if I did you would provide them. Like the rest once in contract yous do what you want at customer cost. Lesson learned be careful

  • 666_Consigliere
    Lucifer's Consigliere (@666_Consigliere) reported

@EE @TomTugendhat Get lost. This is bigger than Tomโ€™s issue today. Everyone knows that it is a big problem across the country.

  • anexiledjew
Greg - Israelite in Exile (surviving the Galut) (@anexiledjew) reported

@TomTugendhat @O2 @EE There's a really easy solution. I've seen this in other countries, and there's no reason it can't be implemented in the UK. Because these networks don't have the ability or will to properly cover the entire country, there's absolutely no reason we can't have domestic roaming in the same way we have international roaming. They wouldn't have to charge for it (although I'd pay if I had to) because every single mobile network would benefit from it. If you can't get an EE signal, for example, you would roam to Vodafone instead. It could be switched on instantly with no expensive engineering needed, but they choose not to do this.
