@Paul_Monk One of the Freeview channels is showing episodes weekly. It's SO SLOW. If we find bingeing them on DVD tedious, what it must have been like for the non-streaming crowd.

@alan_jones They filled hours with Sky Travel Shop. Their main competitor on Freeview was TV Travel Shop. Of course, it was called DTT back then as Freeview only launched in the October. So many new channels arrived, although signal wasn't great.

Thanks to the wonders of Freeview and miserable weather, today I discovered I'd never seen any of Fried Green Tomatoes. Ever. None of it was familiar. I'd somehow understood it as Tandy and Bates frying said fruits. Nothing about what did get cooked, why, or by whom.

@UladhGael @ClarNiUigin Here, it's channel 9 on Freeview but 115 on Sky. BBC Scotland. That's probably no help whatsoever though.

@BuddClair As of this point, it looks as though there's no way we'll ever subscribe to a paid T.V. service like Sky or Virgin ever again. I'm happy to pay the licence fee as it stands, but Freeview's more than adequate, alongside Netflix and Spamazon.

@virginmedia The works are conducted, but they never resolve issues. We still use FreeView, 5 days after the storm. The wifi speed is low, and pages keep crushing on laptop and phones.

@JamesCridland @EFTM No mate, because you're the only one on the planet who cares:))) sorry... cross carry of EPG was an issue when i was at SBS - industry doesn't care, put too much effort into Freeview+ instead of the basic EPG - I hear ya... but, I'd be sticking with fetch:)

Next year I’m going to refuse to pay my TV licence until the government do something about our TV & the BBC as a corporation not as channels because they’re just as bad. I am fed up with watching the same program is repeated on different channels through Freeview & no subtitles
