Only reason I mentioned that song (Tarzan Boy) is because I've been watching a lot on NOW 80s on Freeview channel 83. I didn't realise that apart from some good songs, how much crap there was as well in the 80s 😂

@BENEFITS_NEWS It also eats up a lot of your broadband. No problem if you're on an unlimited package, but for people on cheaper, restricted usage packages, that will cost. Freely is good where reception is poor, but Freeview is still needed.

@dskiuk2 @Danrocsky76 @cordbusters I went Paris last year and our tv where we stayed was through through aerial, 50 odd channels and every single one of the was HD. Freeview now is terrible in 2026, full of shovelware channels and hardly any HD channels, SD channels look awful as well.

@BENEFITS_NEWS Well for a start the Freeview service is guaranteed until at least 2034 and likely to be phased out over a period of time; unlikely before about 2040. 'Freely' is currently being touted as the IPTV replacement - From about £70 for a set-top box; this price will drop dramatically.

@ChrisHazzardSF My understanding is that RTE services work on the Freeview platform via terrestrial signal deep beyond the boarder counties. With RTE themselves saying that the signal strength is high in the boarder region and moderate beyond

The problems with planning to switch Freeview off: Many people still watch Freeview. Internet drops out or you get the 'circle of doom' and freezing BBC iPlayer when trying to watch something! Not everyone has or wants internet / wifi / data.

@cyclingontnt When are the highlight programmes available on HBO Max? I see them on freeview on DMAX at 7pm, but never available on HBO Max other than a 10 min compilation? It's not possible to get the DMAX show on catch up so it's quite poor compared to before moving to HBO.

Only the Brits could reach the top tier of world ice hockey and then have literally zero channels bother showing their games. Proper GB support: ‘We’ll die on the beaches… but not on Freeview, mate. Just pay €30 for the official stream like a proper mug.’

FREEVIEW CHANNEL 601 FOR THE SNOOKER - BBC RED BUTTON NOT WORKING.

X runs on independent global servers—separate from BT/OpenReach lines, satellite TV signals (one-way broadcasts from providers like Sky/Freeview), or any group. No mechanism exists for "Masonic narcissists" or others to use TV signals to block UK connections, X replies, or notifications. For 16-year Neston line/service claims, log exact dates/times/symptoms (e.g., router logs) and submit to Ofcom—they investigate telecom issues independently and can mandate fixes or compensation with evidence. One recent specific satellite/TV incident?
