@MrCoolHandLuke @PairoMayniaq @Telegraph Much of the country can't and will never get Freeview or full fibre broadband. In future it will be the same with 4G and 5G and whatever comes next.

@PumaBare How do the elderly access television when you’ve removed the licence fee which pays for maintenance of the Freeview transmitter network, the most popular (and cheapest) way for the elderly to watch TV?

@a516digital @hischeekiness Well on freeview, they will possibly merge or better still have a time shared service,. Either of those two can empty space for another channel. Such as talk tv in april. Who knows could be part of their plans!

@Jamie_Harte71 @MatthewStadlen How, technically, would you make it a subscription service for those who do not have reasonable internet access and/or Sky/Virgjn/BT TV, the base service of all of which cost more than the TV licence. >10 million people in the U.K. have Freeview.

@grumpybrains BBC lancs on Freeview never has our match on and not sure I have an actual radio anymore so usually just watch scores coming in on BBC. Need a big performance after last week 👊

@KentHC_WX The @metoffice didn't even extend the Yellow Alert for Fog until earlier this morning. I don't think they expected it to reach this far South? Slowing clearing from Medway, here now, but expect it to return later at sunset. TV signal on Freeview was unwatchable last night!

@Florenc00526929 We only have freeview but the TV transmitter burnt down Aug 21 and now the signal is very sketchy not due to be replaced until Aug 23 😒

@kennethtwist @PeterBoneUK Then don't pay if the BBC is a subscription service. There will be FREEview. The poorest in society would appreciate not be threatened with fines or prison for watching television.

@virginmedia Still not working according to a service website I checked there are issues with tv reception in my area and may not be fixed until 17th, insulting really when I receive your letter telling me you are increasing your prices and has happened before so I’m now watching freeview

@williambecket @NadineDorries The cheapest Sky package I can find is £26 (which includes the "tax"-payer funded freeview service). Letting the BBC go commercial would mean that pensioners would save £13 a month but they wouldn't get any TV for that. So in effect you'd be doubling the cost for pensioners!
