Anyone here who lives in London, who watches, or at least, can watch Freeview TV (terrestrial, rather than satellite/streamed TV), can you check whether it's working? I'm not home, so can't check. Wondering if there is a Crystal Palace transmitter problem. Thanks

@gsvalentine @steveboswell I've also seen TVs that won't support MHEG Text in Freeview Play mode, but happily show it when connected to a satellite feed. (2/2)

@RogersWork @binarybits @timtimothyboom Believe it or not here in the UK we only had 4 free to air channels for most of my childhood. Since digital we also get 30ish freeview channels, but they are largely crap. Most people pay for something on top, Netflix, Sky, Virgin etc...

@steveboswell @gsvalentine 2013/14 Samsungs certainly did - support for MHEG-IC was part of getting certified with Freeview HD logo.

@Tom___Scott @BBC @cbbc The problem there is that BBC4 is the same channel as CBBC. They share the same frequency on Freeview. So, when CBBC goes off air, it turns into BBC4.

@PeterG4NES2019 @rorybremner @AngiePedley At last count, there were over 100 Freeview channels. Surely not that much of a problem to requisition a dozen of them?

@a516digital Oh that's interesting. I wonder why I couldn't get it to work. In any case, services like Ketchup's Freeview-play compatible service seem to be the way forward now.

@Article1066 @HookyGolfer I rang sky to ask to have bbc/itv removed but they just said it’s a freeview service and they can’t. It’s annoying as I pay for prime, Netflix and Disney

@MilesKing10 I think they discontinued iPlayer/4OD support for PS3 so might be this. Freeview box might be a workaround?

@Tom___Scott Turn off the shopping channels? There are over 100 Freeview channels, most broadcasting 24 hour crap.
