Looking through the festive TV schedule and there's no Muppet Christmas Carol on any of the freeview channels this year. Never wanted @DisneyPlus to launch more than right now.

@Matey30 @virginmedia Nothing less than I’ve come to expect from them. Service has been so bad which is why we’ve left their tv service. Had to keep the broadband for now due to limitations of other local providers. Now watching freeview…

@Trampolinecare @bantalols Yep. They don't watch Freeview stuff. Even the concept of having to sit down to watch stuff at a specific time is laughable to them.

Does anybody else with a Freeview PVR find programmes on the @Channel4 player freezing frequently for half a sec (but sound fine) ? Our @PanasonicUK is awful trying to watch a C4 series. Once in a blue moon it does it on BBC iPlayer too.

@Aiannucci If the BBC is great, it will have no trouble getting subscribers, what are you afraid of? Why force say pensioners or the poor to pay a regressive tax? They may be happy with FreeView, why should they be forced into paying for the BBC if they don't want it?

@stephenkb @colinelves There’s a technical issue with existing Freeview (DVB-T2 as rolled out in the UK) equipment being used for content access. It’s impractical to turn conventional TV into pay TV. So it will have to be free to air plus top up TV via streaming and/or another box.

@JuliaHB1 I'm down to the weather at 5 to the hour, @RealKenBruce, odd Rugby match live, the rest on Freeview. No BT Sky etc

@LewisJamesBrown I'd agree with that - keep more radio (hard to outreach places and one which really add value - R3) Gap with freeview used by people lower down the income scale needs addressing. Get the commercial arm to subsidise Radio and the TV channel (s).

@1neilhallam @RussInCheshire They are prevented from watching them if they can't pay. What if all she has is a freeview TV with no facilities to play on-demand? Noone should be denied access to such a basic thing in the 21st century. Why do you support an extra tax that can easily be abolished?

@jamiebglover It’s not just about all the BBC channels though, wonderful as they are. The licence fee also maintains the Freeview and radio network on which commercial TV and radio stations depend. The argument to defund the BBC will hurt far more than the BBC.

@RussInCheshire These set of stats don't even cover that the licence fee pays in to support the infrastructure to deliver the "other channels" including broadband roll-outs as well as being a founding force behind Freeview. #SaveOurBBC
