@MrCoolHandLuke @PairoMayniaq @Telegraph Much of the country can't and will never get Freeview or full fibre broadband. In future it will be the same with 4G and 5G and whatever comes next.

Nooooo just lost our TV signal in the middle of @TheRepairShop Christmas programme. Freeview signal out across much of Cambs but until this minute we'd been ok. Thank heavens for iPlayer so we can see the rest later.

@Channel4 & @channel5_tv with all the problems with your networks going down, no subtitles unavailable to the deaf, why not open a 2nd channel on Freeview with all the same programming at the same time (like the HD channels), but with a Signer and subtitles on screen at all times

@BustedSpyke @BBC I thought the Red Button on BBC was free? I'm guessing it is if you have freeview on your TV but how'd you get to watch that on a laptop / mobile device? As for the online commentary, I've got the same problem as I'm just on the edge of 95.5FM's area 🤬

@maryfordneal You don't need a box for Netflix. Freeview connection (via aerial) normally comes set up in the TV. Some TVs do Freesat instead, and they get the signal from a dish. You don't need to subscribe to anything to get Freesat or Freeview. 'Catchup' of main channels free via apps on TV

The sat backup combines Freeview multiplex BBC-A and BBC-B, without the full selection of BBC English Regions, so relays that fall back on satback may offer 'the wrong local news' until normal service returns. It's also very popular in Spain for reasons I won't go in to here...

@MartinSLewis Amazon Prime and Netflix ! I clicked Amazon Prime above, because it is included in the delivery service so is effectively "free". We don't have Sky as we cancelled that many many years ago. We use iPlayer, 4OD, ITVOD, etc quite a bit too. For terrestrial we use HD Freeview.

bad atmospherics in London are causing a lot of Freeview channels to mess up BBC London, but because I am high up I can pick up BBC south and the reception is so much better

@MartinSLewis On "freeview" it is the American channels who have the worst record for not providing sub titles
