@farmboyluke I’m so sad for all the disadvantaged kids who rely on this service for entertainment. Not all kids can afford streaming and only freeview

Its so stupid. When I was younger the only thing my family could afford was a freeview box so I spent a lot of time watching CBBC. BBC say "kids spend all of their time on Netflix or Disney +" what about those like younger me who couldn't afford them?

Sad to hear CBBC is shutting down. There’s not many kids’ channels on Freeview as is (or weren’t when I was a kid) & they made so many beloved shows. Such a shame

@theoneringnet Sadly i'll never see the prequels of LOTR....Terrestrial & freeview tvs no longer show original LOTR now. Gone Forever😢. Occasionally we get The Hobbit.. but thats rare... 1 or 2x per yr. Soon this'll be Gone Forever. Star Wars suffered a similar fate. Gone Forever.

@BBC just heard about your planned changes. Idiotic. Why move bbc3 to Freeview and then take away bbc4. I never watch bbc3 but very regularly watch bbc4. This is a summing down move. Not everyone has iPlayer on their TVs. Also moving 4extra to Sounds. We mainly listen in the car

@Kaaaaatie_x my parents have never had more than freeview and we didn’t get netflix/prime until i was probably about 14 - without cbeebies/cbbc i wouldn’t have been able to watch any kids shows before that :/ such a massive part of my childhood

@Geates @BBCLookEast I was a big BBC4 viewer but they lost me & a lot of viewers by not transmitting in HD on the Freeview platform from the Sudbury transmitter, ie. Ipswich. They always did on Freesat which I invested in back in 2004 as the analogue reception was awful.

As a poor kid who grew up with just freeview and a full time working mum, the loss of CBBC just makes me insanely sad man
