@TalkTalk It would be nice if you could reduce or remove a £40 charge for an engineer who called but made no inspection of equipment, explained that Freeview channels had been altered; a fact that your customer services were not aware of, but should have known.

@jamiebglover You also get Freeview and Freesat, S4C, and the fibre broadband rollout, the latter being a less spoken of contribution from the licence fee, which benefits all the streaming service providers at no cost to them.

@tonypatt2000 Not wanting to help them, just destroy everything around them & reduce their freeview content by destroying what they, the gov,t, can,t fully control. The wrinkly dorries is spinning it to try to appeal to the meakest for her own govt,s gain, shameful.

@tomdesborough87 @Monkeymanb0b They don’t have too. They can remain on the freeview platform which has 4 stake holders. Losing one wouldn’t end the free service.

@thatfoxxybloke @Monkeymanb0b What makes you think ITV, C4, C5 and other Freeview channels wouldn't add a subscription model? ITV have already dabbled with it in their on demand service. Scrapping the license fee completely could end up costing households a lot more than they already pay.

@JonAshworth Pensioners like their BBC shows too. And people who live in (Tory) rural seats with poor broadband like Freeview too.

@SophieRose19x @sophielouisecc Might come as a surprise but ITV, C4 & C5 have managed fine with no public money for over 60,40&25 years. All free, never mind other channels on freeview, you know they use this thing called advertising, which if the BBC is as popular as they make out will have plenty of offers

TV Licence: last time I checked, you couldn't watch TV without one (legally) and it was the only fee I paid for TV when I was younger. I had freeview, the fee may have funded the BBC, but it gave me access to so much more. Not bad value for me and I enjoy zero advert breaks.

@ClaireJHartnell @Porrohman @jamiebglover Bad analogy. You can watch ITV, Channel 4, and the rest of the Freeview channels for free (clue is in the name), or you can watch Netflix or Sky etc., which you can pay for as and when you want to use them. The BBC is a non requirement both in terms of content and personal cost.
