People who have Freeview - is it just a one off cost for the box or subscription and can you record stuff? (Am trying to figure out tv options and can't get virgin and sky i think you need a dish. Aerial is crap here)

I have tried a few times to get GB news on my television up here in Perth Scotland but been unable successful. I have freeview and I believe it is channel 236 I also have a smart TV and digital aerial so that shouldn't be an issue ,has anyone else been having the same issue ?

@merseytart @MrsSimonTemplar Broadband here at my mum’s went down earlier today. I have no idea at all how to navigate her complex system of Freeview tv with no aerial attached to Freeview+ recorder with aerial that appears to supply her tv with pictures. With her Roku stick and Echo down, I sat in silence.

@BBC6Music i along with several other broadcast engineers currently shouting at our radio that there are still radio transmissions. DAB is transmitted as an RF signal. As is DVB-T - Freeview telly. It’s not all online or satellite!

@PanasonicUK I have Panasonic TX-40GX700B (2019) 40 inch, 4K Ultra HD, HDR Freeview Play Smart TV P39U921** Which keeps refusing to pick up signal from aerial and internet, I’ve registered but your website won’t recognise let me in. Most frustrating and annoying all round.🤬

Strange how on FreeView the crap programs don’t have adverts yet those that maybe of interest are riddled with them making you turn over to YouTube

I only have Freeview HD but cannot believe the difference in clarity. Have chosen to watch Sweden v Poland which is on ITV 4 in SD it’s crap compared to ITV HD.
