People who have Freeview - is it just a one off cost for the box or subscription and can you record stuff? (Am trying to figure out tv options and can't get virgin and sky i think you need a dish. Aerial is crap here)

@ArchRose90 Its about time we had choice and not an arbitrary tax just to watch OTHER channels on freeview who are funded by adverts. BBC should be funded through adverts or by a subscription service

The licence fee funds TV programmes that represent British values and issues. It funds world class news and sports coverage. It funds education for children. It funds Freeview. BBC is a human organisation which means it makes mistakes but the alternative is inferior.

@Sargon_of_Akkad I've been thinking about this. If Sky is funded from subscriptions why is the awful Sky News on Freeview? It should be banned from Freeview because it's using it subscription revenue stream to distort the free to air market.
