@1Atkins @ThatsTVOfficial xenon81Message posted on30 Jul 2026 03:21 PM - last edited: 30 Jul 2026 03:22 PM That's TV has gradually removed all its channels from Sky, Freesat and Virgin Media over the last few months. It remains on Freeview (for now) but is said to be suffering financial problems.

@Selene_Mariposa The law says you need to be covered by a TV Licence to: watch or record TV on any channel - via any TV service (e.g. Sky or Freeview) or watch TV live on any streaming service On any device. You can opt out n if you don’t do the above. So it is not a tax for simply owning a TV

@SGV_UK @EdanaThe2nd I think I had something similar in my last flat as I couldn't get a signal for Freeview. It was a Roku stick I plugged into my TV to stream via my broadband

@RITB_ All part of their plan to dump freeview and make us all need ID to go online. The BBC is a trustworthy news service? Don't make me laugh.

@syncronicity100 Thanks. Briefly thought it was high pressure taking down the Freeview signal in my area again, but it was just a few seconds. Dunno if it was the same on iPlayer.

Only positive out of tonight is we were that **** on freeview so everyone has seen how bad we are, it is a good thing because now the hierarchy can't ignore that we may need to re-evaluate our transfer strategy #nffc

3 on Sky, 1 (or 2) on freeview somewhere and 1 (or 2) on super league plus? Obviously easier said than done but would help grow the game

@Jenny_1884 @whinestop I believe the BBC needs to change it's funding model - preferably to a subscription service as using advertising would have negative effects on current Freeview channels. I would like to see a system similar to Sky so you could choose your subscription level.

@Hi_De_Helen Apparently it's going to get worse all down to Sky but how does that include Freeview losing them too 🤔 All I could find out from Google search piece about it in Sun today.
