  • nickhancock741 Nick Hancock 🇪🇺 (@nickhancock741) reported from Borough of Torbay, England

@BoostTorbay @AndrewBrazier1 Never used the first two options. Very much old school. None of the fancy pants Sky or Virgin Media either. Just plain old Freeview for me

Channel 99, Manchester TV, has been added to @ManchesterTVNet (was unlisted [Service 0x76c1]) #Freeview

  • mwalkerdine Martin Walkerdine (@mwalkerdine) reported

@FreeviewTV How come call freeview channels are down for the Leicester area

  • philrandal Phil Randal (@philrandal) reported

@PeterG4NES2019 @rorybremner @AngiePedley At last count, there were over 100 Freeview channels. Surely not that much of a problem to requisition a dozen of them?

  • Saintstepgar Steve G 🏌🏻‍♂️⛳️ (@Saintstepgar) reported

@SaintshaneD @virginmedia Call them and explain you cant afford what they are asking for and see what they can do. I did that and my price went down - not by much but all helps. I have 200mb, TV Max (freeview with a few more extra channels) weekend phone 45/m. I stream movies and sport.

  • alistairsmith77 Alistair Smith (@alistairsmith77) reported

@smashingpaps @flanders1914 I don't agree. Comes down to whether something can be classed as an (essential?) utility or a luxury. Internet access is probably as much of an utility now as a TV signal. Basic broadband should be provided on the same principle as freeview is provided.

  • EileenTurner8 Eileen Turner (@EileenTurner8) reported

@rorybremner This sounds like an excellent idea. It works for all children if its on freeview without the need for Internet. The only problem I can see is getting someone to take it on quickly.

  • alistairsmith77 Alistair Smith (@alistairsmith77) reported

@smashingpaps @flanders1914 The comparison would be with the TV signal, not the TV itself. I doubt there's any TV sold nowadays that doesn't have a freeview receiver built in. Likewise the free broadband would provide the 'signal', the equipment for utilising it would be separate - be it a phone, laptop, tv

  • Jpofgwynedd Jeremiah Savant 🕯️ 🦠 (@Jpofgwynedd) reported

@mattprescott @OakNational Someone may have mentioned it, but not all Freeview channels are available everywhere: either the network will need a massive boost, or certain universally received stations will need to be co-opted during school hours.

  • a516digital Mike (ex-a516digital) (@a516digital) reported

@gsvalentine @steveboswell I've also seen TVs that won't support MHEG Text in Freeview Play mode, but happily show it when connected to a satellite feed. (2/2)

  • steveboswell Bozz (@steveboswell) reported

@a516digital Oh that's interesting. I wonder why I couldn't get it to work. In any case, services like Ketchup's Freeview-play compatible service seem to be the way forward now.
