Looking through the festive TV schedule and there's no Muppet Christmas Carol on any of the freeview channels this year. Never wanted @DisneyPlus to launch more than right now.

@Matey30 @virginmedia Nothing less than I’ve come to expect from them. Service has been so bad which is why we’ve left their tv service. Had to keep the broadband for now due to limitations of other local providers. Now watching freeview…

@MMABrad48 May as well stick a £2.99 a month premium channel on the Amazon service and chuck in adverts on the freeview channels. No one is seeing their arse in 2022 with a few adverts given what social media is like these days.

@SLUG_MrIBlack and as public money went into it, the code was shared with ITV, Ch4, Ch5. It innovates with loads of tech which it shares. It has public services like language transmissions and there was a section to help people switch to Freeview. What the plan about removing its funding?

@JuliaHB1 You fail to mention the BBC also contribute to both Broadband and Freeview. I suppose you never use them either ? All for 43p a day 👍

@SpergenFlergen @bbcpress Doesn’t the license fee go towards maintaining the Freeview signal stream? So 5 of the things you mention there indirectly benefit from license fee payments as they couldn’t be broadcast without the digital signal.

@PCarmichaelVO @NadineDorries In Teesside August 10th 2021 we lost our only Freeview transmitter to a fire. 1 million homes lost its Freeview. Only last week have people got a patchy service back, just BBC some areas have still no signal. 4 months no FreeviewTv. Tell me BBC r doing a good job maintaining mast

@FhilipGreen @notwillyoung86 @krishgm So there isn't 4k output via terrestrial television in the UK. Raise that with Freeview. Which is a private company, by the way. I'm looking forward to you moaning about ITV having the same problem? Sky output in 4k is minimal also.

Nice to be on 5 Live with @Mobeen_Azhar to talk about the BBC licence fee. The BBC’s critics argue for a subscription model, but I still haven’t heard a convincing argument about how that would work for network and local radio - or on Freeview television.

@ElaineMatuszew1 @NadineDorries Other TV channels do exist. Not just BBC, and also many of them can be found on Freeview ( not internet / streaming ). Besides, this issue isn't about getting rid of th BBC. It will still exist, but it will be funded differently

@Garnhiem_ @talkRADIO The issue that most people have is with the news programmes. There are no subscription only news TV stations in the Uk. Even sky news is free on freeview. It is also not an option for radio stations.

@SPENCE_JOHN @zsk Because if they really are so poor (let's assume) they will be watching freeview, who do you expect to pay for the massive infrastructure. Why would a private company pay for it when they would get nothing back, as its "free" "viewing"
