When Freeview is turned off a mix of subscription for drama and entertainment shows and funding from general taxation for children’s, educational and current affairs programmes would seem sensible.

Efootball🏴 (@Efootballgame1) reported@ollocoll Bring in food stamps. No car, only able to watch freeview, no internet, family of 5 should only get a 3 bed house and use bunk beds. No holidays. No phone contracts. They get a government issue phone. We need to stop rewarding laziness. People with disabilities can have luxuries.

Well you will lose my payment for the TV licence as that's how I watch TV & if you get rid then I won't be able to watch & I'll cancel my licence. Not a very clever decision to make is it?

LDH Marketing (@LDHMarketing) reported@BENEFITS_NEWS It also eats up a lot of your broadband. No problem if you're on an unlimited package, but for people on cheaper, restricted usage packages, that will cost. Freely is good where reception is poor, but Freeview is still needed.

jason_mi7 (@Mi7Jason) reported@WhichUK For live events,internet speed isn’t everything. For reliability/lowest delay, broadcast still wins: Freeview/satellite first,then cable/TV provider. Fibre streaming is great,but usually behind “live”. 5G/4G/Starlink can work well, but depend more on signal, congestion and load.

The STV app is forced on us Scottish viewers by ITV & is utter CRAP quality for live footie & I don’t have access to freeview, I use a fire stick & no aerial. 😭😭😭
