  Imagine how much of a Christmas miracle it would be if BBC3 came back to freeview number 7. I can picture it now, Gavin & Stacey returns and BBC3 makes a comeback. 25/12/19 would go down in history.

  @curryspcworld Just been into your Crewe store looking for a freeview box. 5 staff members fiddling with displays, me the only customer. Not one member of staff came to see if I needed help. Going elsewhere as you obvs don't need my custom.

  @james_blue_cat Can't afford any streaming service or the hardware upgrade to accommodate one. Freeview and iPlayer is enough. Didn't switch telly on Xmas day and Bob and Paul going fishing was my highlight.

  Worst case scenario on That's TV channels on Freeview I'm posting this because Freeview channel 75 That's Entertainment deadline is over and nothing been broadcasting yet the deadline was on Wednesday 22nd July 2026. Freeview channel 7 & 8 That's Local channels are not affected by this. All That's channels on Freeview will be removed from the EPG without notice.   If you are a born-again Christian but have no church to go to, try watching the SonLife Broadcasting Network (SBN) on the United Kingdom's Freeview 94. It is also available 24/7 online, and on the radio in the USA. It is sound teaching, services, and worship.

  @Jenny_1884 @whinestop I believe the BBC needs to change it's funding model - preferably to a subscription service as using advertising would have negative effects on current Freeview channels. I would like to see a system similar to Sky so you could choose your subscription level.

  @WhichUK For live events, internet speed isn’t everything. For reliability and lowest delay, broadcast TV still wins: Freeview, satellite or cable. Fibre streaming is great but usually behind “live”. 5G/4G/Starlink can work well, but depend more on signal, congestion and load.

  @TheGriftReport There are millions of pensioners and older folks who do not have broadband, do not want broadband, would never manage with a new television / apps, and rely on their Freeview television service to stay connected to the outside world Switching off Freeview would effectively be an isolation/ death sentence for many of these people

  @BBCLookEast With landlines becoming broadband only, and Freely starting to replace Freeview we are becoming 100% dependent on broadband. That has dangerous implications for resilence if broadband goes down, or worse if you never had adequate broadband at all.

  @BENEFITS_NEWS Well for a start the Freeview service is guaranteed until at least 2034 and likely to be phased out over a period of time; unlikely before about 2040. 'Freely' is currently being touted as the IPTV replacement - From about £70 for a set-top box; this price will drop dramatically.

  @JoshCF_ They're a joke now, two years ago the deal was £45 with basic freeview and Sky Q and now it's £63. They've also ended customer support on here and UK based customer calls. The app regularly messes up now, doesn't recognise you've paid and you end up getting charged again 😑
