    Imagine how much of a Christmas miracle it would be if BBC3 came back to freeview number 7. I can picture it now, Gavin & Stacey returns and BBC3 makes a comeback. 25/12/19 would go down in history.

    @curryspcworld Just been into your Crewe store looking for a freeview box. 5 staff members fiddling with displays, me the only customer. Not one member of staff came to see if I needed help. Going elsewhere as you obvs don't need my custom.

    @james_blue_cat Can't afford any streaming service or the hardware upgrade to accommodate one. Freeview and iPlayer is enough. Didn't switch telly on Xmas day and Bob and Paul going fishing was my highlight.

    Unsurprisingly, so many things have not been considered with the whole "shutting off terrestrial" tv thing. For instance, companies like BT/EE do NOT broadcast the Freeview channels on their online service in rural Scotland. These come in on the aeriel, the rest through your ...

    @TheBasedMother You will soon have no choice. All electrical goods will be connected to wifi. This is one of the reasons they want to ditch Freeview, because it is not a two-way service; and it is not subscription.

    Another stupid idea is the 2034 plan to turn off Freeview. In no way will rural broadband be up to providing reliable services by then..the same applies to FM/MW radio. It's ridiculous meanness dressed up as 'progress' @SarahChampionMP @KarlTurnerMP @lukeakehurst

    @retrovinmania79 @NoContextBrits You don't the difference between Freeview/DVB (which is the morden digital version of what you said) and a streaming service that requires you to make a profile account to use the software/service even though you don't like on YouTube. You only pay to get rid of the adverts.

    @Jcaird2 It’s basically freeview albeit a bit cut down via the internet. We have been fine without aerial anyway and missed nothing we like but it will be nice to flick through stuff again and stumbling on something to watch.

    @sparry951 @diablik_uk @BENEFITS_NEWS It'll be a slow creep; for many years now some channels on the Freeview EPG have in fact been streamed. Freeview recorders are still readily available for those that want them; if you're using Sky/Virgin etc. you're already NOT using the Freeview service that is 'under threat'.

    @john_seto Have they announced the end of UHF? I'm on Freesat Vs Freeview, I lose the signal in heavy rain.
