  • DamienAshton Damien Ashton-Wellman (@DamienAshton) reported from Birmingham, England

Looking through the festive TV schedule and there's no Muppet Christmas Carol on any of the freeview channels this year. Never wanted @DisneyPlus to launch more than right now.

  • geovilla77 georgie green (@geovilla77) reported from Bromsgrove, England

You don’t realise how awful freeview is until your waiting for the sky man to come to your house 🥴

  • TomPoole007 Tom Poole (@TomPoole007) reported from Birmingham, England

@virtualash tell your boys your TV quality is poor on Freeview. Whale's head will not look fuzzy. This can't be allowed to happen.

  • unit_1974 🐺Wolfish (@unit_1974) reported from Birmingham, England

@Matey30 @virginmedia Nothing less than I’ve come to expect from them. Service has been so bad which is why we’ve left their tv service. Had to keep the broadband for now due to limitations of other local providers. Now watching freeview…

  • xemilywalker emily (@xemilywalker) reported from Solihull, England

The worrrrrst thing is, I’ve never had a telly in my room, never wanted one but that means tomorrow my mom and dad will be watching something awful in the back living room so ill be in the front living room with just freeview channels hahahaha **** off

  • ellrbrown Elliott Brown (@ellrbrown) reported from Birmingham, England

@mrgrahamreed @BBCiPlayer I think I only saw season 1 on Sky 3 on Freeview. Never saw the rest of it. The classic '70s Battlestar got shown on BBC 2, in the '90s.

Freeview Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Takethatjoe Gerald Smith 🤢 (@Takethatjoe) reported

@Ange_9_ @darrengrimes_ So you think advertising is going to raise an extra £3.7 billion? The BBC share maintenance of freeview, freeview is the biggest digital platform and you casually say they’ll go subscription, not everyone has a fast reliable broadband service and you’re assuming millions

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@coster_ray @WonPeople Incidentally the subscription model, as you must know, cannot work with Freeview (the most popular way for the poor and elderly to access television). So they’re a tad screwed aren’t they?

  • EdScottLondon Ed Scott (@EdScottLondon) reported

@paincave1 I don’t worry for the bbc or the government. There are a lot of issues - the license fee is an outdated way of finding it when it is totally impossible to force people. Subs won’t work with Freeview. Only option is directly fund it out of our taxes.

  • willis_talks Wayne Willis 🇪🇺🏳️‍🌈🌏🌳🎹🎙️🚶‍♂️💡🐾 (@willis_talks) reported from City of Kingston upon Hull, England

I'm again having endless issues with #BBC #freeview channels not working in #Hull. I watch via @NOWTV box but I think it's a regional antenna issue. Is anyone else in Hull / Humber having trouble with receiving BBC channels?

  • Stephowd Stephanie Howard (@Stephowd) reported

@LordFrodsham @HackedOffHugh A surprising number of people in this discussion don’t seen to be aware that the license fee doesn’t just cover the BBC but 70 Freeview channels & all radio. Anyone who doesn’t want to pay the fee can disconnect their TV, watch Sky Sport down the pub and Netflix on their computer

  • ODChivers Oscar Delta (@ODChivers) reported

@IanCLucas @tshep42 Indeed, we could start by closing down RT news in the UK which is broadcast to EVERY home through FREEVIEW digital tv. Fyck Putin. #UkraineWillResist

  • Takethatjoe Gerald Smith 🤢 (@Takethatjoe) reported

@darrengrimes_ Blame the government, what is your solution as to how it is funded? Advertising is out as the market is saturated, subscription is out as it’s on freeview

  • garyscott8383 Gary Scott (@garyscott8383) reported

@Lakeuk @timfarron The company dvtv that administrates the UK Freeview network is owned by the BBC.... They choose not to give us the full offering ( that we pay for all the same) so we pay for less service (Tim knows this it was his own campaign when Freeview first came out) we also can't get dab

  • Whoknow01623687 Who knows 🗣 (@Whoknow01623687) reported

@WonPeople Nothing you can’t watch a repeat of on any other freeview channel. Never listen to any BBC radio either.

  • blogmywiki Giles Booth (@blogmywiki) reported

I think the Freeview MUXes are trolling me. I can now get BBC Three in HD, but can't receive BBC Four HD at all. (I know why this is, I'm just not prepared to 'do a Rod Hull' to fix my aerial.)
