@FreeviewAdvice Can you help me please. I am now relying on Freeview. My tv has HD but Freeview isn’t. How do I get my Freeview into HD. It’s not a pleasure to watch. Thank you.

  • RoboJ1M RoboJ1M (@RoboJ1M) reported from Portsmouth, England

@Sonic_Sinclair @bbcmicrobot Technically it is, there's support for it in DVB. There's several channels on DVB satellite that uses it, not sure there's any on freeview. Certainly all the original services shutdown or moved to MHEG. The BBC mheg service was incredible but that's shutdown now too 🙁

  • JohnJpsk john knights (@JohnJpsk) reported from Eastleigh, England

Freeview Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@williambecket @NadineDorries So you’ll be happy for these pensioners to pay a separate broadcasting tax to maintain the Freeview transmitter network? That’s MILLIONS each year. None of the programming they recognise of course.

  • 85Aston Aston (@85Aston) reported

@PCarmichaelVO Is the Freeview network the BBC as well? I thought that was Arqiva

  • steviexdavis stevied (@steviexdavis) reported

@GBNEWS Needs to be. It's a disgrace we pay a licence fee not to watch the BBC but to watch all the other Freeview Channels. I never watch the BBC, so cancelled licence, now I Can't watch all the other channels.

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@PumaBare How do the elderly access television when you’ve removed the licence fee which pays for maintenance of the Freeview transmitter network, the most popular (and cheapest) way for the elderly to watch TV?

  • BrokenTV Mark Gibbings-Jones (@BrokenTV) reported

@GiNgEr_JaMeS Plus, it's a model that would remove BBC services from Freeview, a service used by... the elderly people with limited income that Dorries is claiming to be protecting.

  • FilledIre IreFilledMonkey (@FilledIre) reported

@mrjamesob The entire freeview system, built and maintained by the BBC. The radio we listen to all over the world, Parts of the emergency broadcast system. The massive international footprint made by the BBC, creating huge goodwill for Britian. All destroyed because of these petulant liars.

  • bookwormsarah Bookwormsarah 💙 (@bookwormsarah) reported

Is anyone else having problems with the BBC on freeview? Other freeview channels seem to be ok, and CBeebies has re-emerged a couple of times, but we’ve had ‘weak or no signal’ for three or four days. No errors listed on the transmitter page…

  • JoeBlog21 Joe Bloggs (@JoeBlog21) reported

@PCarmichaelVO @NadineDorries It doesn't maintain the Freeview transmitter network on its own ya liar!

  • highfivedave highfivedave (@highfivedave) reported

@GaryLineker BBC should be a choice.Cut down the waste & some of the ridicolous expense. Get a bit of sponsored advertising and I am sure those who wish to subscribe for the price of a licence fee will still do so. Should never force people to pay BBC to watch Freeview on a TV. This is 2022.

  • timalmond Tim Almond (@timalmond) reported

@MattWWoolwich The BBC is already garbage, as is most of Freeview.
