What's happened to #C4News? Can't get it live on iPad or Apple iPad. Or on Freeview play using the satellite cable. WTF is going on?

Darren Richardson (@BlackCloud1966) reported from Great Yarmouth, England
@OttoTheSecond Might do that next time. Hoping the final is in 4K so my telly can take advantage of it. Providing of course that ITV show it and have support for it. Disappointed there in no 4K content on freeview or iPlayer at all...

Darren *Calling out da BS* Richardson (@S0UNDK1LLAH66) reported from Great Yarmouth, England
@_i0n Where you live got reception probs then mate? Like hills blocking a signal? Where I live is a bit of a nightmare. Cos the high channels on Freeview I can't get cos 5G wipes them out.

@cal_on_demand @kkbigk @OwenJones84 A marginal market at most. What about educational TV? Minority output like Welsh language programmes? Who would finance the freeview transmitters maintenance? Local news? Non-commerical radio? BBC website? World Service?

@zsk You'd get **** loads more on Freeview or FreeSat for.... free.
-
GeordieManc (@geordiemanc70) reported
@EstibalizTerron Well done. If people could get the heads out of what Murdoch and chronies want them to believe, they might realise that the TV channels are a small part of what they get - dozens of radio stations, BBC Online, Bitesize, World Service, Freeview, FreeSat, R&D technology....

@cononeilluk Currently impossible to put a paywall on Freeview which many people use to access BBC, ITV, Ch 4, Ch5 or any radio stations. So how exactly could BBC become a subscription service?
-
Michael Lewis (@lewismj_waioeka) reported
@EdwardJDavey @Aiannucci If the BBC is great, it will have no trouble getting subscribers, what are you afraid of? Why force say pensioners or the poor to pay a regressive tax? They may be happy with FreeView, why should they be forced into paying for the BBC if they don't want it?
-
Dave Wayne (@DaveWayne306) reported
@simonday And how many of these shows, and others such as QI, Mock the Week, etc. are repeated on freeview, cable, and satellite channels, and probably being watched by people who "never watch BBC" ?
-
Central ₿ank Robber (@topimp21) reported
@Takethatjoe @darrengrimes_ Oh my god, how would our TV's ever work without Freeview 😱 After all,it's well known that in every other country where BBC-funded Freeview isn't available, TV broadcasting simply doesn't work.
-
Darren Crimes (@darrenscrimes) reported
@Porrohman @ClaireJHartnell @jamiebglover And if you genuinely don't use the freeview TV service, never see any BBC content etc etc, then you don't have to pay. Idiot.
-
Tim Binsley #JohnsonOut (@barongreenbacks) reported
Secondly, that ‘expensive’ licence fee does so much more than fund the BBC. It also part funds C4, it maintains the freeview network and the radio broadcast network, meaning that that £159/year or £13.25/month is doing a hell of a lot of work.

Mike Benjamin (@brundellfilimou) reported
@talkRADIO @Iromg @BeccyRyan What a load of rubbish. How can you pay a subscription fee for radio services? There are no uk based news TV channels which are subscription, Sky is free on freeview. Allow the bbc to compete for ad and sponsorship on a phased basis while winding down the licence free.
