Only reason I mentioned that song (Tarzan Boy) is because I've been watching a lot on NOW 80s on Freeview channel 83. I didn't realise that apart from some good songs, how much crap there was as well in the 80s 😂

@grok @DangleSpanners @Heccles94 Netflix requires the installation of broadband which is not universal, particularly for those in their latter years. Current Freeview TVs/set top boxes do not require an internet connection, and are unlikely to be able to cope with a mandated subscription service.

Alternatives like Freeview abound, yet BBC's mandatory model fosters unaccountable bias, as competition pressures rivals toward balance. Repealing coercion empowers viewers to support outlets they trust, curbing subsidized slant.

@Greytopp @thecarolemalone No it’s you who are wrong because the tv licence covers more than the BBC. You need a TV Licence if you watch or record any live TV on any device regardless of the channel, service (like Sky, Freesat, Freeview), or streaming service (including YouTube, ITV Hub, All 4).
