@deedee10780561 Hehe. I have freeview only as I resented paying for 10000 channels I never watch 😂😂
-
Philip butcher (@Philipbutcher1) reported from Reading, England
@GBNEWS Is anybody else having signal issues on Freeview channel 236? The signal is weaker than all the other news channels.

So what’s on the telly today cause Christmas Day I ended up watching the Food Network channel, that provided more entertainment than the entire freeview network.

Remember, the #BBCLicenceFee doesn't just pay for BBC Broadcast services, but for the investment in research, infrastructure etc that enables free to air viewing via other platforms and services. Without BBC support freeview and freesat would probably collapse

How would you, technically, make a TV service through an aerial work as a subscription service? Would you make people pay for a Sky/Virgin box to enable them to receive a BBC subscription service? What about the 10 million Freeview users and 1.5m people without internet access?

On Dan Wootton Tonight... Should Boris Johnson step down rather than risk being ousted in a no confidence vote? 📺 Freeview 236, Sky 515, Virgin 626 📻 DAB+

@HarrietSergeant @darrengrimes_ What’s your solution? Obviously advertising is out of the question and it has to be kept on freeview to allow accessibility for all, so what do you propose?

Eric Norton (@ericdn627) reported
@ParodyFPL @TransponderTV I'm sure nothing, other than a removal of channels as the BBC shuts them down or otherwise makes them unavailable on Freeview, which appears inevitable.

Emma T (@ETusty) reported
We have freeview signal this evening. Yay. The only downside is that when there's no signal I get to control the remote and choose the channel because the OH has no idea how to get on iplayer, netflix or prime. He'd spend about an hour just finding something to watch

@DaveOufc They could do it like Freeview - core channels are free, then you can choose to pay for add-ons. All this tech exists, they've just never had to consider it before
-
Graham White (@_chalkie_) reported
@jamiebglover You also get Freeview and Freesat, S4C, and the fibre broadband rollout, the latter being a less spoken of contribution from the licence fee, which benefits all the streaming service providers at no cost to them.

@TheLordMidge @5h4k35p34r31 @guardian Amongst other routes there are plenty of freeview/sat boxes that allow access to the android App Store allowing that service to be used on a freeview certified box. It is the major funder and essentially saved the system from commercial demise.
