I've switched from O2 > GiffGaff > O2 including renewing contracts etc and not had to pay a penny to keep my number. The problem you might have is if they disconnect your old number. That might cause issues.

Theoretically Seph Bentõs 🎸🎶 (@SephBentos) reported@giffgaff I’m slightly concerned as I signed in to all of my various accounts including banking etc and set up my iPhone keychain before it powered down. I’m worried that if I send it off someone could access all of my accounts if they replaced the battery as it’s tied to my iCloud account
