Why is customer service now so rubbish @HSBC_UK ? 45 minutes hanging on the phone before it clicks off. You're closing dozens of local branches. There is no one to talk to. Why would anyone keep their account with you any more? I've had mine 50 years wonder why.

@Philbuckle @HSBC_UK Indeed. My prefered HSBC branch shut its counter service but still hasn't increased the number of self service machines to meet demand. And that one machine doesn't always work... I use Post Offices for basic banking activities now - longer opening hours too!

@witchymacwoman @HSBC_UK @HalifaxBank Tbh nor do they. They have closed down virtually every branch, l pay cheques at the PO now as no local branches anymore. This is all about internal HR issues.
