  @simonnread @HSBC_UK That is globally and across all business lines. Are you suggesting they keep loss making branches open and that is funded by other clients elsewhere in the business? If people no longer want that service you stop providing it, simple as that.

  @avtsuk @HSBC_UK You're not alone there in your HSBC experience Captain! Outsourcing of call centres is the death knell in the overall, consistently crappy service "offered" to customers by EVERY commercial bank ! (Except of course when they 1. want your money and 2. want to use your money)

  @HSBC_UK closing 100+ branches: I was on hold for 1hr plus today only to be told to I have to go into my branch to resolve the issue. Sure it’s a good idea?

  @RedCircleFP @HSBC_UK But as you said yourself, there are people who want the service. They're withdrawing it from them after what is probably years or decades of providing it. Surely you can understand customers' distress?

  @HSBC_UK Well it goes for bad to worse. 44 minutes on hold again and now Iman in Leeds. passive agressive statements, argumentative and general making statements that are fundementally untrue. All I'm trying to do is close accounts and even that is impossible!

  @HSBC_UK Not really- I’ll be totally honest here- we’ve had a great rapport with the bank for years- being really busy it’s hard to get out of the office during working hours to get to the bank/post office etc- so they kindly bank them for me as I pop it thro letterbox with slips
