Been on the phone to @HSBC_UK for well over an hour trying to sort out registering my mother's LPA. I can't believe how inefficient they are and what bloody awful hold music they have. If you are going to put someone on hold for half an hour at least play something decent.

@HSBC_UK is playing a clever game. They have made opening an account next to impossible. Now they want to vex current account holders in the hopes they close their accounts. Then they can announce they have lost the retail banking battle in the UK close up and move to China.

@HSBC_UK Does this mean that if you, @HSBC, don't like a customers views, that you will not provide them a service?

@HSBC_UK Doesn’t HSBC support the national security law imposed by China on Hong Kong, which among other things permits the Chinese government to extradite, torture and kill anybody who supports democracy, freedom or independence in Hong Kong? Not much commitment to equality there.

@PaulEmbery I’m going to close my @HSBC_UK account. Oh wait. I already did because of their support fot China’s appalling treatment of the Uiyghurs and Hong Kong. *****.

@HSBC_UK If you'd bothered to read the thread instead of jumping on a bandwagon, you'll see the dismay was about Andy's very rude customer service response. Looks like your Twitter is also run by idiots. Have you read any more responses to this tweet?

@HSBC_UK Being able to be yourself in the workplace is an employer issue, not a customer issue. If your staff feel they need to wear a badge to feel comfortable to undertake their role, you’ve failed

@HSBC_UK I've been a customer for 30+ years; in the last 10 I have been appalled at the craven disregard of HSBC for Chinese minorities & freedom loving Hong Kongers. Equality is the law in the UK, discrimination is illegal. Declared pronouns are idealogical/religious & 99.9% unnecessary

@HSBC_UK And can they also go and find another account if they don't like it? This doubling down in solidarity with about the rudest customer service response I have ever heard (and I live in the Netherlands!) might not go down too well

@HSBC_UK @HSBC I has been involved in funding so many grotesque atrocities & activities over the years, this virtue signalling about pronouns is laughable. I don’t really care which straw breaks this camels back, the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Company deserve to go down.

@AdiDee_Gee @HSBC_UK Everyone Gemma works with knows her pronouns. As a customer, I don't need to know them because I'm not using them to her face, I'm calling her Gemma not her/she/hers. So who is the badge for, exactly? How is this pointless exercise a positive step?
