Another day, another papercut on the road to transition as @HSBC_UK (ironically using the pride flag) refuse to update my name on their records, saying only documents witnessed by a solicitor are valid, despite their website listing deed polls as acceptable.

Hey @HSBC_UK - trying to call on the non-HSBC customer number that’s advertised on your website - automated voice asks for my sort code, card number or customer identification number, which I don’t have as I’m not a customer (but would like to be!)

@Male_Karen69 @HSBC_UK @Stonewallhousin There are all sorts of possible reasons, but I'd assert that basic banking is a useful support rope that every homeless person should have equal access to. Do you disagree with that?

@HSBC_UK @Stonewallhousin There is no reason for basic ******* or gay to be more vulnerable however when you move further along the scale you move into the realms of abnormality and people become unemployable and outcasts needing medical help.

@paulafr68963440 Last proper bank manager I had was at a branch of @HSBC_UK in Cheshire in 2001. Great bloke who took a real interest in your plans, and genuinely wanted to help. He had total authority to action business/personal loans on the spot. 'Progress' has totally ruined that service.

@HSBC_UK still not answering @FaddenBoobs after 2 hours of a private message is a ******* Liberty and they need to sort out their customer service skills clearly 🙄🙄

@HSBC_UK there's no point in sending me letters about claiming money from my frozen account when we both know there is literally no piece of documentation that you'll accept as proof that I'm me. You're an awful bank to deal with, I've moved on, I suggest you do the same.

@Male_Karen69 @HSBC_UK @Stonewallhousin OK, so how do the problems of the other 76% differ, in terms of not being able to access a bank account?
