That was due to the dispute btw the Football League and the BBC/ITV. I think money was basically the problem!

The BBC as well as ITV no longer hold the rights to the Football League and the EFL won't take kindly to unauthorised airing of it's old highlights. They might have to pay extra to screen them.

Jimmy said that others knew he was wanting to leave but the money was the issue, if he did it during a trial he got full pay, but a fraction if said in camp.
