Day 23 of holiday: roaming services from @O2 are now working. But I can’t recommend that colleagues travelling internationally for holidays or conferences rely on O2 promises to provide a roaming service.

ok so @O2 have epically ****** up. Turns out the iphone they sold me today can't be used as it requires an esim. But they have no facility to provide an esim. Every route leads to their app - which doesn't work without a sim because it requires a code to be texted to your phone.

@O2 so you've sold me a phone with no way to use it? What on earth!? You're going to need to find a solution that isn't just 'we'll post you something that will take 3 days'. This is your own systems. Your own network, your own shops, your own app.
