So I've fully paid for this month's broadband, I'm without any service, and I'm having to commute daily from Swindon to Reading to work on my own in an empty office.

I used Plusnet for many years before that and any time I had an issue their customer service was great! Zen used to be really good too although I haven’t used them in over a decade.

This gave me extra leverage and instead of the £11 increase, they knocked it down to a £1.30 increase just by making a quick call to them

Also the price had gone up in that time by £2 a month. Not wasting my time or £ with them again. Awful.
