Every single visit is a problem, a different method, like a trick, a game. Ugh. I so miss the lovely HSBC staff.

The problem is that the staff on the number given had no clue of the Customer Care or suspected fraud phone numbers. It's a staff training issue that needs addressing.

Artur Nadolny (@ArturNadol7566) reportedPOST OFFICE SENT INVESTIGATORS TO SEARCH A FRIDGE FOR MONEY Sharon Brown and Kevin Brown took over their Post Office branch in Pennywell, Sunderland, in 2006. A few years in, the Horizon system @PostOffice started showing shortfalls. Sharon assumed the fault was hers. By 2012 she was suspended over a ยฃ36k discrepancy that never existed. Investigators arrived at her home. They searched the fridge. They went through the kitchen cupboards. All hunting for cash that was never gone in the first place, because a computer glitch does not hide in a Tupperware box. Sharon and Kevin used their life savings to pay back a debt invented by a faulty IT system. Kevin called it "a massive black hole." They are still in debt today. Two charging orders remain on their home. Sharon has spoken about the period around 2013 and 2014 when the stress brought her close to taking her own life. What stopped her was a photo of her sons, Adam and Callum, on the wall. She has said "I wouldn't be sitting with you now" if she hadn't seen it. Their old branch doesn't exist anymore. It's a shop selling vapes, cakes and milkshakes now, lit up with a rainbow LED sign. Sharon went back to see it once. Her heart was racing before the car even stopped. She no longer speaks to family members who doubted her at the time. No fridge search fixes a debt that was fake from the start. No apology from head office undoes 14 years of two people quietly bankrupting themselves over a software bug. The Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry @PostOffInquiry keeps hearing stories exactly like this one. Post Office keeps saying sorry. Sharon and Kevin keep paying off a debt that a computer made up. Imagine that sometimes the server is down, how far the world has progressed and this is it. The woman kept saying, Sir, how will I come again, I have come with great difficulty, but the post office people did not listen to her at all. They said the time is over, should we come tomorrow? These people could not understand the pain of a disabled woman. Couldn't you have taken her documents and posted them? Was the poor girl so helpless and still you didn't help her? Please tell me whether action should be taken against such postmaster or not.

Pierce Dargan (@PierceDargan_) reportedStepaside Post Office Closure Update I was very disappointed to see the post office in Stepaside closed this morning. Minister Richmond and I had a call with An Post this morning. They have been working with the postmaster and landowner in an effort to keep the post office open. Unfortunately no viable solution has been found which is why the post office has closed today. However Minister Richmond and I have received a commitment from A Post that they recognise the need for a post office in Stepaside or the immediate surrounding area. In the meantime post office services are available in Ballaly, Dundrum, Ballinteer and Cabinteely. Minister Richmond and I will continue to do everything we can to secure a post office back in Stepaside and ensure our community has the local postal services it needs. We understand how important this service is to the local community and we will keep pushing for a solution. #Local #Community #PostOffice
