@davidallengreen @PostOffice Where are the professional bodies here? Individuals are likely to have broken the ethical rules in supporting this - they should loose accreditation; professional bodies could easily loose legitimacy without appropriate action

@davidallengreen @PostOffice The software was closed source. Open Source software, even in public life, is not a panacea, and does not guarantee anyone will find or correct errors, but ... Open Source software prevents anyone from preventing anyone from examining it for errors and identifying them.

@davidallengreen @PostOffice Someone at @PostOffice gave the order that its reputation must be preserved at all costs. Where is that reputation now, pray? Under a heap of destroyed livelihoods and reputations that could have been saved at the outset by one admission. “There is a problem. We will correct it.”

@cgsneal @davidallengreen @PostOffice The PO knew there were problems with how the software performed in their business. They ignored/hid this evidence and aggressively pursued people who'd done nothing wrong. It's not Fujitsu's fault.

@davidallengreen @PostOffice And innocent people went to prison due to these horrible decisions made by people for bad reasons. Justice requires that the people who made the horrible decitions for bad reasons get the same fate.
