Is this still correct? Friend was told by a staff member at @santanderuk branch that this is wrong ?? @MartinSLewis

Love the online banking (they one of the first) and app, but the chat and video call functions are hopeless. Only want to open an account for my daughter, but too difficult. Shut for refurb!.Only that I was able to give him cash myself to tide him over he would be stuck 😡

They say they are charging 120 GBP a year for forever free accounts bcoz of Labour's regulations. You can stp them by writing to Financial Ombudsman Service, South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR.

Telling me to go to a branch is not a reasonable solution.

Yet you still give alerts for entering an overdraft or debit balance amount ? This was a VERY good service Satander did . And a VERY ANNOYING decision to stop it!
