I got an email saying to send a text or make a call from the new sim and that would prompt the number to port within 24hr. It hasn't yet ported. Pls help?

If the business your exiting is profitable, keep a hand in it - if the new owners fail, you could buy back the stake that you sold for a fraction you sold it for. Walmart aren't stupid.

You piggyback off one of them but don’t offer their more advanced services like WiFi calling which extends the range indoors.
