@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK There has been a collapse in customer service standards over recent years. COVID was a catalyst, but then companies realised customers were tolerating 1-2 hour waits, and that they could get away with "demand throttling" by understaffing call centres and then pocket the profits.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK With any of these mega corporations, once it is apparent “Customer Services” are completely useless, you have to go straight to the CEO or MD. You google their email address and complain in a reasonable manner. Always works.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Very similar experience and so glad I'm out now. Poor attitude and absolute refusal at first to accept that I wanted to leave. Flippant rudeness at that point and still haunted by admin issues in the weeks following. Avoid!

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK From working in a service desk, it is clear @VodafoneUK have made cheap cuts going for agents/out sourcing their call handlers who have little to no expirence/care on such sensitive matters. When going through such a ordeal the least of you worries should be a phone plan!

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Cancelled with them recently. Well done in actually getting through to someone I never managed that.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Whatever you do, don’t get a second line with them either - that really is the **** that will not get off your shoe. Took them 9 months. I don’t know who set up their systems that one call centre doesn’t link with another but they want suing. And then possibly hanging
